NEW beginnings 2012 | Ottawa animal Photographer | Vegan Certified Ottawa

Back in 2006 , I began a journey of creating a business that revolves around incredible people and the animals they love. It has been an incredible life experience that has enlightened me and my family. This Christmas I was enlightened once again reading a book called SKinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. Hard cold messages that hit home for myself and my husband. I have some wonderful friends in my life that are Vegan and I have always admired their ability to live in a non-vegan world. Things are becoming easier for vegans though, as new restaurants and old established restaurants become well known for their incredible cuisine.

So 2012 is a new journey for our family. I know for sure I will never look at meals the same having read the chapter “You are what you Eat”. On that note: I have a special offer for my clients, friends and newcomers to my blog. For this week, I want to help you make a different choice with a little incentive. Until Friday at 9pm, I am offering a special 2012 Photo session offer with a purchase of Arbonne products. Arbonne is a Vegan Certified line of prestigious products that have taken a stance  on animal testing and animal byproducts since their beginning. This Swiss line offers consumers a validated choice for choosing products that have no paw prints attached. Just send me an email at suebird@urbandogphotog.ca for more information.

I’ll sign off on this little quote from the Steve Jobs Novel that was under the tree for Christmas , from an apple commercial “think Different” in 1997,

” The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. ”

Animal welfare | Ottawa Arbonne Consultant | Look Good…Feel Better

The new issue of Ourhomes is out and features a beautiful home I photographed in Rockcliffe. Click on the link to check out the online edition . Here is a glimpse of the cover.

Now onto an exciting announcement and the power of my why……

Yesterday, Arbonne announced that they are supporting an incredible movement called Look Good…..Feel Better. Many of my dear photography clients and those who have come to know me well over the years, understand and know how important supporting community initiatives,  animal welfare causes and giving back has been a part of my professional photography business for over 10 years.

So Why do I choose to photograph people and their animals? The bond is so incredibly rich between a person and their pet. The commitment and valor of the animals life to their owner is sacred and I  honor that in images.

So how does Arbonne fit in to this and why did I endorse Arbonne and begin to offer these products to my clients? It becomes more clear every day for me….Arbonne honors the same valor and commitment of animals, by the very nature of being Vegan Certified and honoring the code of ethics to not harming animals and in yesterday’s announcement that Arbonne is donating $350, 000 in product to the Look Good…Feel Better program, it became so much clearer and solidified my why.

We have the power as consumers to make a stance and be heard. We can make a difference in what we purchase and how we purchase. As a business owner, I have taken on the responsibility to offer my clients only the best…….the synergy of these two businesses is serendipity….. my why just became stronger.

What is your why and how will you make the difference in 2012?
