Back in the fall I had honor of photographing a beautiful girl named Katie. It wasn’t until recently that I got a chance to see the results from the shoot in the December 2009 issue of Dogs in Canada. This assignment was a special one for me , not only did it bring me back to my roots as a photojournalist, but it allowed me to work side by side with the vision of senior great graphic designer Michael Fong of Dogs in Canada. The bond between this little girl and her Autism Service dog Amber is the core of what I believe is the most incredible part of these beautiful animals. I feel so privileged to witness and document how these wise old furry souls change peoples lives every day.

these lil cards turned out too cute! they are in and they are ready for pick up at Kanata’s Bark and Fitz location! For those who participated in some fun sessions last week, your lil’ love letters are ready for pick up! Make sure that when you send this valentines love letter you let the recipient know about the session discount on the back! That’s right! I am spreading the love with you! Each person who receives the cute little love letter will get 10% off when they book their next session with me when they show the card!

Fantastic event Saturday at Kanata’s Bark and Fitz as we grabbed some great loveable valentines’ shots, proving that this Friday some lucky dogs will be picking up some pretty fun “mini” love cards to give to their fellow canine companions! All the dogs were super stars playing up for the camera, big thanks to a great colleague, Sandie for assisting for the day and to the Jesse and Amanda of Bark and Fitz! These are just two loveable furry friends from the day!
Part of Saturday’s sitting fee & the ongoing raffle at Bark and Fitz Kanata will donated to Veterinarians without Borders, A Canadian charitable organization with a mission to work for, and with, communities in need to foster the health of animals, people, and the environments that sustain us. Helping to improve the livelihoods of communities in need throughout the world is what Veterinarians without Borders/ Vétérinaires sans Frontières – Canada (VWB/VSF-Canada) is all about. Established in 2005, VWB/VSF-Canada works with governments, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, local communities, farmers’ groups, and international agencies, to tackle root-cause issues affecting public health, animal health and ecosystem health in developing communities around the world. Although they are not part of the first responders to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, they are in support of organizations who are on the ground now in that area.
Keep posted for the next itty bitty limited edition mini sessions coming to your favorite coffee and canine spot, WAG this April. Information will be posted in March about this event, you will not want to miss this one! We had a hoot last time!
Cheers!

Be sure to check us out tomorrow morning on Ottawa’s A channel for “It’s /A\ Morning’s Pet Show!” They’ve got it all: pet-friendly cafes, pet photographers, and even a paws-try chef! Couldn’t post with out at least some fun fresh images from recent sessions, We are all aware of the strong bonds that exist between pets and their owners. It’s the reason I specialized in animal lifestyle photography, No exception is Randolph and Marg, a wonderful rescue story and wonderful bond.

See you tomorrow morning!!
