Ottawa Photographer | Dog Photographer

Wanted to post some images of a lovely old soul named Bandit! We shot this session at Bruce Pit recently after Bandit’s mom won a silent auction package we donated to the Ottawa Lupus Gala held at the Chateau Laurier back in May. Lupus is a part of my family and so when the organizers approached me to donate a session, I was all in! I am so glad the event was a success and brought awareness, visibility and new funds to this auto immune disease. Below is information about the disease.

Lupus is a chronic and potentially life-threatening disease that affects over 50, 000 Canadians, of whom 90% are females typically diagnosed between the ages of 18 and 35. Lupus can attack any organ of the body causing recurrent illness, chronic pain and disability. Worldwide, lupus is more common than leukemia, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy combined.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease, a type of self-allergy, whereby the patient’s immune system creates antibodies which instead of protecting the body from bacteria and viruses attack the person’s own body tissues. This causes symptoms of extreme fatigue, joint pain, muscle aches, anaemia, general malaise, and can result in the destruction of vital organs. It is a disease with many manifestations, and each person’s profile or list of symptoms is different.

Ottawa Photographer | Family Photography

Watching kids grow up is a really cool experience, speaking as a mom and as a professional photographer. I have known Pat & Mel since highschool, and have watched the evolution of their family. You may recognize Pat as the former Canadian football wide receiver who played with Ottawa Renegades, Edmonton Eskimos and won two Greycups with the Montreal Alouettes. Pat is currently running his own training academy preparing young athletes for success on the field.

Our first round of sessions was for their first born and now we are in to the final stages of photographing their newest edition to the family. Capturing a family during a session is such a reward as an artist, they have such rich personal stories that leads to great images.

Helping you decide what to do with your photos following the session is part of the whole process. Although I have a blast during the actual shoot, I find some of the really inspiring parts also come from sitting down with my clients following their session and designing art for their walls right in front of their eyes. Combining photos from the session and placing them in different formulas, provides so many options for displaying your session images, like the Tryptich poster below or a duo 30×34 wall canvas gallery combination.
